Ross is a Principal with DaVinci Consulting Group, LLC, joining DaVinci in September, 2011.

Experience

Mr. Bagshaw has 25 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry, and has a wide array of product and professional depth of experiences. He is currently best known for his overall expertise in long term care insurance at Transamerica where he set overall strategy, drove sales and distribution growth, and led operational excellence and efficiency – each leveraged from his financial and actuarial background. He is a frequent speaker on industry issues.

Mr. Bagshaw is a Principal with DaVinci Consulting Group, LLC, joining DaVinci in September 2011. Prior to joining DaVinci in this leadership role, Mr. Bagshaw was President and CEO of Transamerica’s Long Term Care Division where he served as Executive Vice President of Transamerica Life Insurance Company. He was responsible for everything to do with the division and in particular for their reemergence into the market with remarkable growth after directing a major financial turnaround of the business. For most of Mr. Bagshaw’ tenure as President, he also maintained his duties as CFO.

Before his promotion to President in 2005, Mr. Bagshaw had been Chief Actuary and Chief Financial Officer of the company, responsible for every aspect of traditional actuarial, product, and financial accounting work together setting the overall risk culture.

Mr. Bagshaw was hired into Transamerica because of his reputation as Vice President and Actuary at UnumProvident in charge of the reserving and modeling of most of UnumProvident’s business. He held a number of leadership actuarial roles before UnumProvident which were primarily product development, actuarial pricing, and marketing actuary related.

Product experience includes long term care insurance, life insurance, individual disability income, long and short term disability, critical illness and cancer insurance. Mr. Bagshaw has also served as an expert witness.

Ross has also served as an Expert Witness.

Education

Mr. Bagshaw graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BA in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
